Today I took Brian to the doctor in town. We are working on getting a clear diagnoses of what he has. Last April, he was diagnosed with and treated for tuberculosis and meningitis. He is through with the medicine and there is still no change. I have suspected from the start that he has cerebral palsy, but that is something that often goes undiagnosed because not only do you have to travel to El Doret to find a hospital with the right equipment, but it is also expensive.

Brian and I got to the doctor’s office around 11 and weren’t all finished until around 3. We waited for two hours for the doctor to show up. Then after we waited our turn we got to see him. He asked me questions to see if Brian had all the symptoms of TB or meningitis. Even though he is healthy and all of my answers indicated that he was not sick with either of those things, we still had to get him a blood test. After waiting for the results of the test, we got back in line to see the doctor. Then we got back in the room with him and he referred us to the other hospital. I know doctor’s offices in America can be slow, but I will never complain about them again. The convenience of getting to leave and wait for a phone call, or have medicine called into the pharmacy is something that I will be thankful for.

We will head out to El Doret sometime next week to get Brian scanned. Please pray it all goes smoothly and we can come back with a diagnoses. Other than that Brian is still doing good. He is adjusting well, sleeping well, and eating well. He doesn’t cry if he is not being held like he used to, but he still likes to pout from time to time.
