Today we went down to visit Cyril and Henry to see how they were doing. We went to their house and the neighbors told us that they had gone to their grandmother’s house and told us how to get there. Their grandmother is also very sick. She has chronic malaria, which won’t go away without a proper diet, which is hard to come by when you live in Shimo. Cyril’s mother looked exhausted so we asked how she was doing. She told us that she walked all the way to her mother’s house with Cyril, Henry and the new baby. All three of them have to be carried and somehow she made that long walk less than a week after having a baby.
Its heartbreaking to see how hard life is for this family. So must pressure on this poor mama who wants to provide for her family, but is simply unable to. We took the kids to the doctor. They both had malaria, got dewormed, treated for a few other issues and were given a huge bag of medicine each. The doctor was able to look at Cyril’s legs and said that the peeling is because of malnutrition and was given on a multivitamin. We also got the family food for the week so that they can all eat a few good meals and can regain strength and start on the road to being healthier.

Little Henry just resting on the way to the doctor.

Cyril was happy to be back at her house.
